WHO WE ARE

We are a not-for-profit Educational Center that helps Leaders learn to effectively lead
transformative organizational change.  We are comprised of a community of individual
consultants and practitioners as well as drawing from academia and those who are
interested in learning more deeply about emergent leadership and the use of
Self-Organizing Leadership Principles in guiding organizations, communities and
individuals to achieve extraordinary and sustainable results.

HISTORY:  The Center for Self-Organizing Leadership, Inc. ™ was formed in November 2001
by Richard N. and Claire E. F. Knowles. In January 2002 they invited six other individuals
from the USA and Europe to the first Gathering of the Center. Although each of these
initial members had their own expertise, they were drawn together by the work of
Dr. Richard N. Knowles, in particular by his work on the Process Enneagram© and Sustainability
 - sustaining leadership effectiveness within organizations.  Effective October, 2003, the
"Center" was incorporated as a Not-for-Profit Educational Center. 
(We have tax exempt business- related status).

 The Center for Self-Organizing Leadership (also known as C-SOL) continues to expand;
it has a Board of Directors and Supporters from Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia
and the United States.  

C-SOL is a community of learning and practice, revealing more sustainable ways to lead.

Our work is helping people to become aware of the current and the possible; to provide the
space for emergent conversations that help people make sense and work together;
to accomplish whatever they want to do more effectively. While the use of the
Process Enneagram© tool is a vital part of our work, it represents one part of our work.

The C-SOL experience is a shared source of knowledge for colleagues and associates to use
with clients and others. C-SOL practitioners model the learning.
